Shangri-La Calcite Specimen

Shangri-La Calcite specimen, measuring approx 154mm x 102mm. Found at the Baishuitai (White Water Terrace) in Shangri-La, Yunnan Province, SW China. Found as lustrous, "waxy" crystals formed in starburst or flower-like formations. Baishuitai is one of the largest limestone terraces in China and is considered a sacred site representing purity and auspiciousness. Calcite is found all over the world in a variety of colours and forms. Most common colours are Blue, Green, Yellow, Honey and Orange. Optical Calcite is a clear double refractive variety. Mangano Calcite, or Pink Calcite is a soft pink, that glows under uv light. You will receive the exact crystal shown.
