Rainbow Obsidian palmstone with green hues, measuring approx 65mm x 35mm. A natural variety of Obsidian that appears black in dull light, but in bright light has colours of greens, purples, pinks and greys. Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass formed after eruptions and comes in different varieties, with plain black being the most common.The use of Obsidian dates back to the Stone Age. It has been polished into mirrors for use in contacting Spirit and forged into weapons and tools. It has such a sharp edge that even today, surgical scalpels are made from it.
