Optical Calcite Sphere

Optical Calcite sphere, measuring approx 77mm. Also known as Iceland Spar and was originally discovered in Iceland but can also be found in Mexico and New Mexico, USA. It is a transparent form of Calcite but it also forms in pink, peach and green tinged crystals. Most banded Calcite is found in Pakistan or Mexico, often in shades of green, white and yellow. Calcite is found all over the world in a variety of colours and forms. Most common colours are Blue, Green, Yellow, Honey and Orange. Optical Calcite is a clear double refractive variety. Mangano Calcite, or Pink Calcite is a soft pink, that glows under uv light. You will receive the exact crystal shown.
