Obsidian is a natural volcanic glass formed after eruptions and comes in different varieties, with plain black being the most common.The use of Obsidian dates back to the Stone Age. It has been polished into mirrors for use in contacting Spirit and forged into weapons and tools. It has such a sharp edge that even today, surgical scalpels are made from it.
